Welcome to Capreol – Northern hockey, hometown pride

The Capreol Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) is proud to host our annual Capreol Heritage Classic Tournament at  Capreol Arena from January 9–11, 2026. This page summarizes who can enter, how to register, fees and deadlines, what to expect on game day, and who to contact. It’s written for managers, coaches, players, and families.

Who Can Enter

Divisions: U9, U11, U13, U15, U16, U18

Category:  House League only

Not eligible:  A or Selected level House teams

Overage players: Must be declared at registration

*The tournament reserves the right to limit entries and make final eligibility decisions

Dates, Format & Schedule 

Dates: January 9–11, 2026

Player recognition:  Player‑of‑the‑Game awards - Medals for finalists

Entry Fees & Deadlines

Entry fee: $1,300.00 per team

Deposit to hold spot: $500 (non‑refundable) due Nov 9, 2025

Balance due: Dec 19, 2025

Entry deadline: Dec 19, 2025 (or when divisions are full)

Registration & Acceptance

·       HCR/approved roster

·       Travel permit (if required)

·       Insurance certificate (if not captured in HCR)

Acceptance A team is not considered accepted until payment and required documents are received. If anything will be delayed, please contact Mona, our Tournament Convener (see contact information below)

Rules & Conduct (Highlights)

Warm‑up: 3 minutes after Zamboni doors close

Round robin: No overtime. 2 pts win / 1 pt tie / 0 pts loss. Forfeits recorded 7–0

Tie‑breakers:  Head‑to‑head → most wins → NOHA goal average → fewest GA → fewest PIM → coin toss

Finals OT: 5‑minute 3‑on‑3 - then 3‑shot shootout - then sudden‑death

Timeouts:  One 30‑second per team per game

Jerseys: Home  light, away dark

Safety: BNQ neck guards mandatory. Mouthguards per home association policy. Concussion removal/return‑to‑play

Discipline & Zero Tolerance: 

·       OHF Minimum Suspension List in effect

·       Fighting = removal from tournament

·       Respectful conduct toward officials, players, volunteers, and spectators

Medical:  On‑site first aid and AED. Please list allergies/medical notes on your application

Weather: Northern winters are real – Any schedule adjustments due to conditions will be communicated promptly by email/text
